subterranean homesick alien

it is a song by radiohead, a parody of one of bob dylan’s.

now it is also a short story, it is in one of my pages, read it and then feel free to give me constructive critisism.

the title “subterranean homesick alien” refers to the main character Tom, who is a man not too pleased with his life. He wishes to escape from all of Earth’s troubles; the space craft he stumbles upon walking to his apartment one day just might be his ticket to the stars.

i enjoy being caught in the rain… long walks on the beach however…

want to know something more about me? i run cross country for my beloved school ACHS, i have just joined this year out of the blue, no prior running in my school career, not once, but lookie- i jumped right into it and wanted to crawl right out just as suddenly.

but this isn’t about the punishment of cross country, this article is about the trials of said punishment. of our four(?) meets thus far, we’ve run two in the pouring rain. rain be dammed. the first run in the rain got me sick- and i have just recovered from that three week old cold. twas a harsh one.

today after school we ran another five kilometers in the rain and thunder, at our own campus. this was the first meet i’d beed nervous to run, because i would have to impress my family who were watching- usually i can come home and stretch the truths of my cross country exploits- today they saw me for what i can run. none too impressive i’m sure.

during this trek around the campus however i was encourage by few who i was purely glad to be there. my girlfriend mikey bard being one. that girl has some pipes let me tell you, through all the thoughts in my head, my panting, and clogging i could hear her swell chant from across the football field… “go logan!” and how could i let her down right? and so go i went.

i probably got passed by some four people after then, but i still felt warm in the chilling rain knowing she was there for me.

later my dad told me to finish strong- and i didn’t quite feel like finishing at all, running takes a toll. finish i did however. 19th of 26 boys, and i beat more than half the girls i’m sure… me and the rings have fun trying to outrun each other- there is my competition. in practices i strive to climb the ladder that is the lap time of my team- nowhere but up.

the rain though, hope i don’t get sick- *cough*

oh well.
